About the Project
Bharat Samridhi Udyog is an emerging rural production initiative based at the Manav Teerth campus in Bemetara, Chhattisgarh. Established in April 2023, the project is developing nutritious, preservative-free food products using millets, locally available ingredients and an Ayurvedic approach to wellbeing.
The initiative was created with a wider purpose than manufacturing a single product. It seeks to demonstrate how responsible production can contribute simultaneously to better food choices, local employment, women's participation and rural economic development.
The project began with the development of a healthy, Ayurvedic and preservative-free food product intended for people across different age groups. Its initial product research has focused on using millets and local ingredients to create a nutritionally rich offering with protein and vitamin value.
By operating from Bemetara, Bharat Samridhi Udyog aims to strengthen rural production capacity rather than concentrating all manufacturing and employment opportunities in large cities.

Bharat Samridhi Udyog is supported by SHAPE Foundation as part of its Sustainable Production domain. SHAPE Foundation promotes production systems that fulfil human needs while supporting ecological responsibility, local capability and mutual prosperity.
The available project documentation records initial support of approximately ₹3 lakh to ₹4 lakh. This assistance was used for early-stage requirements such as research and development, testing, recipe trials, small machinery, packaging design and operational preparation.
The project had also identified a larger requirement for machinery, manufacturing setup and early production activities. Operating from a rural location presents practical challenges including limited technical support, transportation time, machinery servicing and access to specialised vendors. The project is responding through localised planning and gradual production development.
